BiographyEd has been skiing since he could walk, and skiing mainly in Verbier, he soon fell in love with the place and the people. For the last three winters he has based himself in Verbier, the 'freeride capital of Europe'.
Living in Verbier has provided him with the opportunity to ski and train with some of the best pro's around and through this he found his passion for big mountain skiing. With advice and training from the Warren Smith Ski Academy he has competed against some of the best big mountain skiers in the world and last winter started to become a regular on the European Big Mountain Comp scene. He is looking forward to competing on the European Big Mountain circuit again this year with his main goal in skiing to eventually qualify for the Freeride World Tour.
Ed also works closely with various snowsport photographers and film makers and has had coverage in some of the biggest ski magazines around. He is looking forward to filming for Storm TV this winter. When not working hard up the hill, Ed can often be found propped up funding the Farinet Apres Ski Bar in Verbier…!
This winter Ed is looking forward to skiing in Japan with photographer Camilla Stoddart and a trip to see what skiing in North America is like as well as starting his quest for a start on the Freeride World Tour!
He would like to thank Camilla Stoddart at Whiteroom Pictures, Warren Smith and the boys, Andy David at Storm, Jay Earls at Lab 15, Dave Sawyer-Parker and Gregor Brearley at Nordica UK, Chris Bevan at Faiise clothing, Paul Richardson for “hooking me up all the time”, Chris Rigg at Ellis Brigham and Mum and Dad for “not worrying too much…”. Thanks for giving him the opportunities to take his skiing further.
